Water Quality

Clean estuary water is vital for plants, animals, and people. The water quality of Otter Point Creek is negatively affected by land use practices that increase runoff from hard surfaces, add sediment to the water, and add excess nutrients that lead to poor oxygen levels.

How OPCA will address Water Quality:

  1. Educate the public about the importance of water quality and support Naturalists in such educational activities.
  2. Provide volunteer opportunities for water quality research and monitoring activities at OPC.
  3. Provide opportunities and hands-on experience for students and adults in water quality research.
