Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) is an essential part of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem and we need your help to monitor it! Through this program, we can learn about the species we have onsite, how much SAV is in our water, what benefits they have to our wetland, and more. This data will also be valuable in understanding the SAV presence in the Chesapeake Bay as a whole.

Below is the layout for the training. Pre-registration is required.

1. Participate in the online training on Thurs. May 22nd from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. You can also request to receive the recording to prepare if you can’t attend this portion.
2. Join us onsite for the on-the-water monitoring via canoe on Sat. May 24th from 8:30 am to 11 am.
3. Sign up for various dates throughout the summer to monitor on your own.
